General Cycling Discussion - 6 am, who's up for a ride?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Me...well, after one more cup of coffee. I rode up a stone bluff over the ocean last evening.
0 -say 50 foot cliff, one rock. Never did it during the day -no idea why I tried it in the dark.
I'm off to go have a look @ it in daylight and give'er again.
'Yawn.'
Later.

O.K..shoes and coat are on, tough love biking.
Hit the road before the traffic starts.
It's o.k if you start a bit late, just get a ride in today!
I normally ride at 6:00 am before work. Its tough getting going but once the air hits your face and you turn the crank a few times all is well. If I miss that ride I feel bad all day. Really clears my head (in more than one way he he )

I should try making my rides at odd hours. I hate the roads here, the drivers are horrible and there is practicly no shoulder. 6AM out riding is too early for me but i wonder if during the summer mid day would be better. I figure then most people are at work
I ride at this time every day. It is the best time of the day. Very quiet and peaceful. Very little traffic.

Just got back, I got rained out.
At one point I was at a harbour and off the dock I saw a rockhopper (bike, not penguin) under about 4 feet of water.
Looked old so I'm not going back to fish it out.

it's 5:40 and I will head out for a ride about 6:30 before I have to go into work for a couple hours.
0600? I'm on my way home after having ridden hourly patrols on my bike for the last 10 hours.

I'm usually on the road by 6:30 AM and I couldn't think of a better time to be out. Well 2:00 AM is pretty nice too.

During the summer I start riding at 4:00 to beat the heat. It is awesome because all the guys with airconditioned cars sleep in so it is just me and the waking desert usually.

I hit the road between 2:00am and 3:00 am.It's a blast at night on rural roads. I just have to keep a look out for DUI drivers at that time of night.
Hidden bouns I get off work at 1:00pm and have the whole afternoon to ride. :p
On the weekends. I'm with you 6:00am works for me.

Lay off the caffeine girl! That can't be good for you.
;) ;)
I've been doing this for a month or so now. I'm out the door at 6 to do a 20 mile loop. Home by 7:15, warm a couple of bottles for the twins, change a couple of diapers and hit the shower. Into my office clothes and back out the door at 10 to 8 for my easy 4-mile commute to work.
This way I get in 28 miles a day and let Mrs. Caloso have a little bit of a sleep-in. Everybody's happy.

My morning ride (commute) begins between 5:30 and 5:40, depending on whether I hit the snooze alarm or not.
