is it possible to swap the loose bearings on my cheap suzue (i known, bad call) hubs for sealed bearings?
Im not finding any quality loose bearings to replace them with and these ride horribly. the sealed bearings look to be about the same diameter so it seem like it would work.

I think that they need real bearings, if they started with real bearings. Is your hub pitted? If so, use a retainer, and make sure that you adjust it properly. If your hub is not pitted, get some super-fancy campy or non-bike steel balls to pack in there.

You can buy bulk chromium bearings from places like loose screws http://www.loosescrews.com/. They're one of the least expensive I've found. Don't forget if you get new bearings that SUzue basics use both 1/4" and 3/16".

Thanks for that bit of info. I'm planning on buying premium bearings for Sil-SP.

www.biketoolsetc.com is another good source. Don't buy the cheapie bearings, get the grade 25 chromium ones. If you work on a bunch of bikes, buy 'em by the thousand, it's cheaper.
