It seems that I must follow the progression. A xmart store bike, a hybrid then finally a road bike. Last year & this year supported tours, and this fall a BB/hotel tour with hubby. My dream, something like Koffee's trip in Italy, or a TransAtlantic. But for now my comfort zone is supported touring.
Last year, Michigan Shoreline West @400-500 miles. Beautiful scenery, lighthouses, lot's of opportunity for swimming & small towns. Breakfast & dinner included in price, restops not supplied. Same route each year. Highly recommend.
Cycle North Carolina 2001. Another great ride, very little water (swimming). First few days hills (thought it would be mountains). Great entertainment at night. A few problems with caterers. Rest stops have PB&J, fruit & Gatorade. Many towns have welcoming committee. Different route each year. Highly recommend.
