Peugeot Bike

Hi,
I’m looking for help in figuring out what kind of bike I have.
I purchased this used in approx. 1986 and it was represented as a PX-10, but now I wonder.

It is a royal blue Peugeot

Serial number 6033078 on a riveted aluminum plate on the BB.

Lugs = Simplex
Fork =1/2 chromed
Stem = Gran Prix labeled “3ttt”
Hubs = Campy high flange
Rims = ? clinchers, probably not original I think
Freewheel ? it’s a splined 5 speed
Brakes = Mafac Racer centerpull conventional bolt through mounting
Levers didn’t look original, Gran Compe with gum full hoods.
Cranks = Stronglight on the right crank “170 9/16-20” on the small ring 42, not drilled or anodized.
Derailleurs: Campy nuovo record
Shifters = Campy downtube on a clamp, not braze-ons
Seat Post = Campy
Saddle= Brooks
Decals:
Top Tube:
none
Down Tube:
Reynolds 531 written horizontally “3 Tubes reinforces”
“Peugeot” in large white block letters bracketed on either end by
transverse ring stripes in this order
gold, black pin stripe, red, white, blue, black pinstripe, gold.

Seat Tube:
Transverse ring stripes as above, then
Checkerboard in black and white
Gold Lion with foot on rock on a background of
Red outlined in gold on white outlined in black
Checkerboard again
Transverse rings again

All help appreciated.
Thanks!

Sounds like a Pr10. PXs have full reynolds 531 (the 531 on the decal would be at a slant). The rear triangle would be half-chromed as well as the fork. The serial numbers on the plate sticks the bike in the seventies sometime, early to mid seventies.

The PR/PK was the model right below the PX; the main difference between the two was the PX had 531 in the stays and fork as well as the main tubes, where the PR (and the later PK) only had 531 in the three main tubes. Stock groups were pretty identical. Your bike has had a number of very good upgrades. Sounds quite nice.
