Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Does anyone have a preferred brand that they tend towards when buying clothing?
I'm quite a fan of Sugoi's products. I own Sugoi tights, bib tights, and a jersey, and I love all of them. They're really comfortable.
Anyone else have a preference?

I like Giordana and Pearl Izumi except for their crap gloves that always delaminate.

What's awesome is that once I found Sugoi on sale. Woot.
I've become a big fan of the BlackBottom line for my bibs and shorts. Heavy, thick fabric and faux leather chamois.
For my commutin wear, whatever the current offering in Starter, Athletic Works and Fruit Of The Loom at Wally-World.
Sales and outlets. I've gotten some nice stuff at Nike and Patagonia outlets
Etxe-Ondo by far the best bibs I've worn. I like
Garneau jerseys but brand is not as important in
them for me.

I think Voler is way more comfortable than PI, and it's a ton cheaper. I bought a bunch of shorts and tossed my PI and Sugoi stuff..

http://www.velowear.com/ Does Voler guarantee their shorts as well as PI?

Pearl Izumi jerseries and Cannondale shorts.
I'm partial to PI and Sugoi, particularly if they are on clearance.

I've always liked Descente, but it can be pricey.

Ibex wool tights, shorts, and jerseys. Smartwool socks.
Castelli
I love their yPro3 padding for bibs and shorts and they also make outstanding outerwear garments

I love Mountain Equipment coop. They make sober looking clothing (as in no flashy coolors or humongous company logos) that work well, and aren't too expensive.

My favourite is absolutely ASSOS. The new products are fantastic. www.assos.com (http://www.assos.com)
I got a freebie jersey from Gearlink.com when I bought something else. It's made by BCM and it's my new favorite jersey: it's cut really well, the fabric is really light and breathable, and it has a 3/4 zipper. I'm going to look for more BCM jerseys when I can.

UnderArmour. The stuff is expensive, but not as bad a bike-specific clothing. The ColdGear shirt ($50) will get me down to 20F with only a nylon shell over it. The TurfGear ($35) is great for spring/fall. I use the HeatGear ($25) in the summer. All of the stuff is great at wicking. I have never seen it on sale.

I have four Performance brand long sleeve jersey, two MTB jersey by them, and also a RaceFace short sleeve, REI short sleeve, MTB short and three road short, a PI long sleeve, and a Sugoi MTB short. I like the Performance stuff because they are inexpensive, simple in design and are comfortable. I like the REI road shorts because they last a long time and is made well (their high end road short), and the other stuff, the PI and RaceFace was bought on sale and they are more for the personal poser look.
Specialized, Primal wear and Terry shorts and jerseys(primal wear jerseys just look cool). I like assos but can't afford them, and I can get them at cost. I'll never waste money again on campy shorts, they suc'd so bad I gave them away.

Assos for bibs/jerseys etc ...the weakess of the dollar have made them silly expensive now...but they are the best with the glaring exception of their gloves
Defeet for socks/base layers
Pearl izumi... their amfib glove is great for winter riding or skiing (agree about the lameness of other gloves). they have a nice rain jacket and leg/arm warmers
nalini makes some nice stuff as well
sidi for shoes

Voler is my everyday wear.. like the graphics on some of their speciality jerseys... most comfortable shorts is Descente...
have one set of Santini gear..really tops in my book...but too expensive to duplicate too often.
I wear Pearl Izumi shorts for no other reason than that's what the LBS had on sale. My jerseys are generic Nashbar. For some reason I don't like those flashy jerseys. Some of them look like they belong in a circus.
Sugoi sucks!
I like Voler jerseys, arm warmers, and leg warmers, Etxe Ondo Bibs, DeFeet Kneekers, SmartWool socks, Specialized gloves, PI baggy shorts (for commuting), Giro helmets (is a helmet considered clothing??), and PI vests and windbreakers.

DeFeet socks, giordana winter stuff, PI arm, leg warmers.
I have been in the market for a pair of bibs and would like feedback. The one problem I have is sizing. I'm a Clydesdale and wear a large 38 waist and unfortunately more like a 40. Much of the clothing is not produced that large. PI has some stuff that I have now, and generally like.
Does anybody have experience with DeMarchi Contour Shorts/Bibs?
