Hey folks,

I need your help here. We're spec'ing out our track bikes that we're putting together and found this awesome beefy stem (I'll tell ya more about it later). It's 1 1/8" which is perfect since we opted for the bigger headtubes in our track frames..

But the bar diameter is 25mm...I've checked with pretty much everyone I deal with, and I can't find a 25mm bar at all, let alone a bullhorn or Track Drop bar...

Any ideas?

Thanks!

what are the stems like? if its a pop-top open face style stem, then i'm sure 25.4 would fit fine.

It is a 4 bolt open face stem. So 25.4mm will fit...so then I'll ask the same question but insert "25.4"
All the drop bars I seem to sell or buy are 26.0 and the bullhorns tend to be 31.4

considering nitto's bullhorns are 26.0, I think you'll have a hard time finding 25.4's. new, that it. I have no idea about used. if it's been awhile since math class, 25.4mm is 1". I made a set once from 1", 4130 steel. they turned out, umm, "special". the shape wasn't bad, but the tubing I used was too beefy. I went with what the BMX guys use, .058". I should have used .035" it was a lot of work for something you can buy from chuck's for $12

you could be the only shop selling geniune chopped-and-flipped bullhorns.

That's what I'm thinking. If I want to use these cool stems (WOODMAN TRACKSTER Stems) I am going to have to do some chopping and flipping...It could work.

Thanks for the great suggestion Ink!

Man, the Woddman stuff is excellent. I was on their site for a while this afternoon. I think I'm gonna get one of their threaded headsets.

I am going to be adding them to my website this week. Just got my account setup with them. They are really beefy components! I just wish that Trackster Stem was 31.4mm!!!

woodman stuff is indeed nice. i would double check with them about that stem's handlebar clamp dia. though. i was looking at their site, which seems to show lots of errors. that trackster stem is shown to have a 22.2mm handlebar clamp size. wtf? i also really think that stem is more designed for mountain bikes.

another error i noticed is the roadster zero and roadster 17 stems seem to have the wrong pictures... they show the zero stem for the 17 and vica versa. also, those stems would probably be more suited for a track or road bike. that roadster 17 would make a pretty sweet track stem since it has a 17 degree drop...

Yeah I actually emailed Woodman about the 22.2mm error as well. My local distributor of Woodman has it listed as 25mm in their catalogue. They haven't responded as of yet...

I agree though, I think that perhaps by "trackster" they mean SINGLE TRACK...but I love the stem regardless. I really like the chunky/beefy look of it. I've also been looking at some BMX stems that I was considering but they were a little short in most cases.
