Hello all,
One year ago I pledged to get healthy - I've met my first goal of losing most of the excess weight so I decided to take the next step and begin cycling to get in shape, tone and build endurance. I haven't really ridden a bike in about 5 years but for the last few weeks I have been going out most mornings for 30 min - hour bike ride, slowly increasing the time out and the pace. A friend of mine referred me over to the forums so I decided to join.
My first goal is going to be to do the charity ride, Ride for Wishes near Peoria, IL in mid-July.
Right now I'm riding using a mountain bike, but sometime in the next month I'll be purchasing a road bike to replace it, not sure exactly which one yet, still working on that part.
I'm really looking forward to becoming more involved in cycling, and by next summer I want to be able to either do CAM or RAGBRAI.
