Hey folks,
I am buying my wife a new bike for her birthday and wanted to get some feedback/advise on the models I have narrowed it down to...
I am shopping the Trek 7100 ($300) or 7200 ($350)
Jamis Citizen ($300) or Aragon ($389)
Fuji Crosstown ($300) or Supreme ($350)
Basically I am in the $350 and under market

If anyone has experience with any of these models I would appreciate the feedback.
Both positive and negative info would be great. Just about any advise would be greately appreciated as I need to make a decision this week..
Thanks in advance...

Oh, Also...
Are the prices I have listed in line with what folks are paying for the 2005 models of each...
Thanks,
Rob

rc,

Although I can't comment specifically on any of the bikes you're considering, I will comment on my general impression of Jamis, since I just bought a Coda Elite 5 wks ago.

I was very impressed with the selection of components at the price range I was considering. I compared the Jamis with many other bikes and saw only a couple with similar value. I looked at the entire Coda line but had to get the disc brakes. Anyway, I image that they put the same consideration into designing their other bikes. When comparing, I'd consider the differences in brakes, wheels, drive train, etc. The Jamis was a clear winner for me, and I'm extremely satisfied with my decision.

Good luck, and I hope she likes it!

My wife has a Trek 7100, and I, a Trek 7200. We have only had the bikes for a couple of months, but we are both very pleased with them. My wife had a hip replacement a couple of years ago, so, comfort, safety in riding, and ease of riding were big considerations. She says that her 7100 fits her perfectly. We are both in our early 50's.

We paid $279+tax for her 7100, and $349+tax for my 7200 at a small town bike store. We live in SW Ohio. A mega-sized bike store in Columbus, Ohio had both bikes priced about $40 higher. Big city pricing, I imagine. Good luck with your choice.

Hello,

I'm looking at a Jamis Citizen and wondered if you chose that, and what you think? Thanks.

Seems to me your wife should make the decision on which bike to buy - after all, she is the one who will be riding it.

Just my 2c worth!
