Foo - Heath finally available in a single bar format! (no more Skor!)

Okay, I don't know what took so long but Heath has finally changed to a single bar. The only advantage to Skor has been it's availability as a single bar.

It seems like Heath just did this, because I think I had one last week (although admittedly I have been buying the bags with the mini-Heath lately, and have purchased Skor as well).

If anyone has a two-bar Heath would you mind weighing it and we can compare it against the single-bar version. Thanks.

Anyways, seems like a great move to me. Wish I had a digital camera.

LOL! Been so long since I had one I didn't know what you were talking about. Besides, they don't last long around my wife. Skor's okay, I guess, but I definitely prefer the Heath yumminess.

Check out a Daim if you have the chance. It's the European version. They are the best I've ever had. I think Ikea sells them.

Okay, MERTON has thrown down the gauntlet.

Does anyone have a two piece Heath they can weigh? Then we'll compare it against the new one piece Heath and a Skor bar.

I think Merton is referring to the proportion of chocolate to toffee. The two piece Heath would have chocolate around the edges of the toffee.

I do remember however, that when I worked as a stocker at a Walgreen's way back in my high school days, we got a shipment of Milky Way bars marked "NEW! BIGGER!" They were, in fact, bigger in voume, but weighed less than the old bars.

Yeah, I sorta thought MERTON might've meant that--but, Skor definitely has more chocolate, and the new one-piece Heath seems to have more as well. It looks like they've basically copied Skor, except with their superior toffee.

I'm guessing Heath is now on par with Skor regarding their chocolate to toffee ratio. And the new Heath have a textured top, just like Skor (whereas the old two-piece heath were flat chocolate).

The new Heath look better as well, the chocolate has two "stripes" (imperfect word) where the chocolate was iced onto the bar.

All in all this is a very positive development. It will be interesting to see if Skor's sales are affected in any way--Heath has removed their only advantage.

I know Butterfingers are about the only 2.1 OZ standard bar left. Snickers, skittles, and MMs have all shrunk to 1.85 OZ as have most others, some are even 1.7:mad:.

Oh I know this is about toffee but, Black and green's dark chocolate with currants and hazelnuts. Now that is chocolate, I can't even go back to the Hersey's junk. Junk is an appropriate name as they use so much sugar as filler in their "milk chocolate" that it nearly burns my throat and their dark chocolate is hard and waxy-flakey again because of cheapening the mix. Chocolate is expensive especially the cocoa butter part and sugar is cheap, so as long as people buy it....

Black and greens is $4-5 a bar (I think it's a 3 or 4oz bar though) but it is 70% chocolate, all organic, and so much flavor. It is a treat after all, not something to gorge on daily like some people do, so why not get the good stuff.

walgreens has a pretty good selection of exotic chocolate bars, some grocery stores as well.

I prefer dark chocolate unless it is very high quality milk chocolate. standard milk chocolate (hershey) is nasty. dove makes good chocolate as well. newman's own is good, they have some interesting bars, some with currants, etc. I forgot what ghiradelli tastes like, but I think those were good.

I don't eat a ton of candy, or think about it a lot--I just thought it was interesting that Heath changed their format. Excellent move, imho.
