Mountain Biking - Best Jumper

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've been looking at bikes for ages now and trying to get myself a new one, but can't seem to find the right one for me. I like cross country bikes such as Marin Wolf Ridge and some of the FSRs, but I also like the downhillers like the Specialised Bighit. I initially wanted a cross between cross country and downhill like the Kona Coilers, but now I'm not so sure.
The question is, what is the best bike for jumping?

Honestly, there is no "best jumper", but for dirt jumping hardtails usually are better than full suspension bikes. They're built differently, usually with smaller frame sizes.
The Norco 125 is a perfect example:

So, youre looking for a dirtjump bike or an all-mountain bike? Theres a huge difference.

Yep. If you're going to do dirtjumping, get a hardtail. If you're doing downhill and freeride go for the BigHit.
