I'm located in milwaukee and I want to get into biking.. i haven't owned a bike for years and want to get some exercise. I have a really low budget for this about $300...If anyone has any parts laying around I would greatly appreciate it....If you have a bike you want to get rid of please let me know...I need around a 56cm from what i've been told.

Thank you,

Joel

There are bikes in your price range.

You could try a Sportmart / Walmart for a bike in your price range. You also could visit a second hand, Goodwill or thrift shop. Also, check the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel for garage sales with bikes listed. You could check your local bike shop bulletin board and see if anyone wants to sell their old ride. And then, there is EBay.

There are hybird road bikes available new for less than $300.00. Also, you should to be able to find a used road bike for $300.00 You size is very common so I would probably go used.

Since you're "just getting back into bikes" I'd suggest you buy a used steel road bike and convert it
to cross. All you really need to get started is a set of not to knobby tires and change the bars if you
don't like drops. If this flys and you, like it then you'll soon learn where to spend and what to spend
it on. Don't rush out and waste money on a "new" bike when you don't know yet if you'll even like
to bike again.

Good advice. Also check the Shepard Express and maybe go talk to Andrew at Crank Daddy's to see what he might be able to come up with.
