Does buying a new bicycle count as Retail Therapy, or is it genuine? But it feels so good!

Ahh yes, the wonder of a new bicycle. It's my first tour bike. And I'm sooo diggin' it. I used it today for my commute. Smooth groove, baby.

I think my aluminum days are over at last. I've come full circle.

Got it at Chain Reaction in Redwood City. Hmm... I've never been to Bicycle Outfitter, I'll have to check them out. Disappointed now that I didnt know before, but, oh well! It's all good.

yeah, check them out, they are in Los ALtos, and are very touring oriented.

Glad to know that somone else has a Trek 520. I've got an '86 Trek 520 that I use for my commute to work. Love the feel of Steel.

Congrats cranky! Kegger this weekend at my house to celebrate. Only steel bikes invited though.

Hmm. I have a 1984 vintage Trek 520 sitting in my garage. I loved the way the bike rode, but esp. after I changed from downtube to bar-end shifters, friction shifting became imprecise and unreliable, which led to less frequent riding, which made shifting less instinctual. . . . I recently bought a Specialized Sequoia Elite, whose index shifting and handling is just fine. But I still prefer the looks and no-nonsense functionality of the Trek. Sigh
