NiteRider Digital Evolution

I have search the fourm and found a lot of good and bad things about NiteRider. I have the Digital Evolution with the tail light. I was coming home from a friends house and my light gave out. I had a back-up light, but it's hard going from a 15w light to a 1w light. I think that the NiteRiders light need to be used more offen get be more relayable. I'm doing a in-side test run, the light has sat for almost two week in my pannier without being used. The light lasted 56 minutes at 15w, the tail light is up to 6 hours at and it's a little after 3pm. I think if I do this more offen and it's newlt charge before I use it, I will get a better run time. On the other hand, I need a better back up light and maybe should look at a better main light. Anyone has any newer light they know about, that would be so helpfull.

When my NR-DE crapped out on me I got a cygolite z-force HID. Hasn't failed me yet and worked for 2 hrs in Jan-Feb weather. Pricy but worth it. Its brighter than the NR at the 15w setting also. My NR-DE has crapped out again (getting the flashing LED ping-pong in the fuel guage and dimming for no good reason) and I am planning on cutting the tail-light wire and getting a dedicated battery for the tail-light. I will not buy another NR product.
