Does it take to get drunk.

I must be wierd because I get really intoxicated with 2 beers or a small margarita. I was at a resturant after a group ride and a single small margarita got me a ride home... I guess my tollerace is low.

From what I hear it varies from person to person.

You tend to build up a tolerance after awhile, thats why some alcoholics can drink so much before they pass out/puke.

It's because you're a cat5 drinker. It takes years of training to be a cat1 like me! ;)

I mean, come on, I'm not drunk yet. There always room for one more.

It takes about 4 to get me true drunk. (but not puking like a stupid monkey drunk)
However, only one or two stiff ones will have me with a lampshade on my head. I think it is because I embrace the alcohol starting with the first one, while most guys will try to fight the affects so they can show that they can hold their lickher. Also I don't drink more than one in a night, more than a 4 times a year, and even then it is only a handfull, so I don't build a tolerance.

Fighting the alcohol: 1)Wastes money because it takes more booze to loosen you up, 2)It is bad for you because you end up drinking more which has all sorts of ill affects including the shuting down of the digestive system(with regular heavy drinking this causes malnutrition), 3)You can't remember as much as clearly, 4)Hangovers, 5)You can't straighten up and pretend to be less drunk when needed, because your already trying to act straight but drank enough to overpower that, 6)Results in less of the inibition-free float and more of the spacy out of it stagger.

at least six or seven to get the buzz going nicely. But more then ten to get me drunk, I consider drunk to actually mean fairly intoxicated, not just slightly buzzed. I drink to get drunk, I get slighlty buzzed at Christmas and Thanksgiving, but its drink till you're drunk once you get back to the house.

Just two of my Dunkle Hefe Weisens. Half a bottle and my face gets numb. It's a slippery slope from there. My weisens are around 7 1/2%, very smooth and tasty, with not too much of a bite. :beer:

When I used to drink I was 145lbs and couldnt get drunk on beer no matter how hard I tried.
Then, I couldnt get drunk on bourbon anymore.
Then, it was time to stop trying:eek:

Nowadays, five or six at the absolute most. I feel a buzz after one or two, especially if I haven't eaten recently. In college when I was partying constantly, I could finish a case by myself in a night. I like this way much better...

I cant drink more than 2 or 3 before I just wanna puke (I don't like beer but drink it because it is cheap)

I would say "drunk" would be 5 to 6 solid drinks. Maybe a little more if I have eaten a lot.

That's kind of where I am - I can still get drunk on the whiskey, but it takes a lot. I just get bloated drinking beer, so it's usually as a chaser. One pint usually lasts 3 neat whiskeys...

I get buzzed off of two, but it takes 10 to get me drunk enough that people will say I'm drunk.

To get me to pass out...good luck...too much partying in my college days left me with a rather high alcohol tolerance. I don't try to get drunk much anymore, I just go for a nice buzz and sustain that.

About two weeks ago I got really buzzed off of 1 glass of wine. That really surprised me. Of course, I had hardly eaten all day and had gotten 4-5 hours of sleep per night for the last week.

Normally though, I start getting buzzed at 3 or 4 and would call myself fairly drunk at 6-7. Beer doesn't sit well in my stomach though, so I always go slow. Most I've done in one night was 12.

Oh check it out, so I was on this long wandering road trip around the USA for a month and I get back to town at 11:00 at night after a fairly long day haven't eaten much that day, and nothing at all in 4 hours, tired as I was used to sleeping at sundown, and kind of tattered from the trip.

Anyway my dad was like hey lets go to the bar and play a game of pool, "OK" I says, so we get there and I have a pound of light(ish) microbrew and 15 minutes later the bartender brings me a free doubleshot of Jagermeister (it was my birthday). Now here the good part, 15 minutes after that I couldn't hit the balls straight at all and in another 10 minutes couldn't even walk straight. :)

My worst drunken experience was the incredibile 24-hr hangover. AKA I was blind drunk.

sometime around 1am i pass out on my bed....I wake up at it think 12 noon, couldnt read the clock though but i think I saw 4 digits....I go looking for my glasses, then realize I'm still wearing them....I put the glasses on the bedstand, cuss a bit and go back to sleep. around midnight I am finally sober enough to comfortably roam around. The rest of it dwindled down till sunup.

I found out I took down a full bottle of scotch that night....that was NOT a good idea.

Let my stupid mstake be a lesson to all, NEVER down an entire bottle of sctoch by yourself.

Double Tall Saphire Tonics= 4 drinks

16 Ounce Bottles of beer= 7 or eight

this is all assuming that I am drinking for approx. three hours.

This willg get me sloppy but not incoherent.
