Or, well, my town is burning would be more accurate. Stupid hikers. "Oh, i'm lost, maybe i'll set hundreds of thousands of acres of forest on fire, so i get found." I hate stupid people. The fire hasn't hit my home yet (I'm not there, I'm overseas, but my mom is a firefighter, so she's still there) but they're going to just abandon the town if the fire goes real wild again. Many, Many great trails that i grew up on that i'll never be able to ride again.

I haven't got a clue as to how to respond to this one.

Hope everything works out ok, and that everyone is safe.

Absolutely amazing. One of the guys i work with was born in Show Low, his parents still live there. There house was one of the red flagged house. Basically, fire fighters wont even try to stop the fire if there house gets hit.

I hope everything makes it out OK, and everyone keeps safe.

I don't think anyone is making fun of you or the tragic situation in Arizona and Colorado. :(

Let us know what happens. Hope all ends well.

I've got a brother who lives in Pinetop-Lakeside. He's cleared all of the brush from around his house but his neighbor hasn't. He's hoping that if the firefighters have to decide which house to save, they'll save his because he took steps to reduce the fire hazard. We've all got our fingers crossed that the fire doesn't reach his area. Oh yeah! he's also an avid cyclist.

Your location is not listed by your sign in; so how should
we know what fire you are talking about, Colorado is also burning --in case you don't get the news over seas.

Apart from that, I do hope your Mother and your house is spared.

The fires in colorado aren't threating as many towns... nor are they as big. (big enough, though, something like 100 wildfires in the west right now? whew!) as far as it goes, my mother says that the town should be fine, (thanks to the help of some of the residents, no less) but the town is now surrounded by fire. (I'm from Heber-Overgaard) I've completely given up on the news reports, they keep saying parts of the town have burned that haven't. The reason my location and occupation aren't listed is that they make me a big target for the bad guys. Oh, by the way, I wasn't suggesting that you were making fun of my predicament, as much as the way I worded it.

There are some Canadian fires that are producing some wicked good sunsets here in Minneapolis. On a side, I've never seen "smoke" as a weather discriptor, as in rainy, cloudy, sunny, smoke. It was how Yahoo listed the weather the other day.
