Hi all, I live in the Twin Cities, and just like everywhere in the US our local news is revoltingly bad.
Anyways one of their teaser blurbs was:
"A local man on a BMX bike has been mugging people with a gun; find out how he does it next at 9:00 on Fox 9"

How much more do you need to know?
-Mike
Post Script: They call him the BMX bandit :P

I saw the one on UPN29, which shares a lot of the same reporters. I thought it was pretty funny. Especially the old guy he tried to rob who no longer carries money after being robbed last year. He had a really sensible outlook on it - when the guy told him to get in the garage and lock the door, he was all 'I'd rather have a locked door between me and that gun...'

I quit watching Fox's channel 9 in MPLs several years ago because they spend as much time promoting news as they do reading the news and twice that much time on comercials. The web is much better for news if you don't mind reading.

Did anyone see the news blooper where the attractive blonde anchorwoman was throwing it over to her colleague the weatherman by asking, "where's the 8 inches you promised me yesterday?"?

Classic. They couldn't gather their composure and had to go to a break.

Channel 9 sucks- regardless how you feel about the police, any network that goes out of their way to constantly refer to them as "cops" cannot be taken seriously.

"the cops..."

"a Minneapolis cop...."

They are the most sensationalized, fear-mongering network of them all...

BTW- when I lived off Portland/Lake Street (actually Oakland/31st) about 14 years ago, a kid on a BMX bike rode down the street shooting out windows- including ours... took police over an hour to cruise by. Or course a woman was murdered in our yard- some guy emptied a gun into her at 4am ("I didn't see nothing")- and a blinged out BMW was turned into a "carbecue" in the middle of our street- and it stayed melted to the road for several days... we were broken into three times in 6 months- at which point I broke our lease and moved--- but that kid on the bike was priceless.
