General Cycling Discussion - Rainman headed to San Diego, Florida panhandle, Rio Grande Valley, TX

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The social director, aka Rainbabe, has laid out an ambitious travel calender for July since it is the only time she can really take extended time off. Thought I'd throw out our July travel plans to see if there is any chance of meeting/riding with anyone.

6/29-7/5 - San Diego, CA - I will not have a bike AND we will be travelling with another couple so an actual ride is pretty much out. I might be able to squeeze out time for a beer or cup of coffee. We will actually be staying, are you ready for this, at LAWRENCE WELK VILLAGE which is in Escondido if I remember correctly. OK, once you have stopped laughing let me explain. Our friends arranged a time-share swap. There were several places to choose from, but we decided that it had to be LWV for the story telling value alone (Note my avatar).

7/13-20 - Grayton Beach State Park, Florida - I WILL have a road bike and a ticket to ride. So I'd love to hear from anyone in that Destin to Panama City area. Actual days I could ride are probably Monday-Friday, but make me an offer.

7/28-8/2 - Laguna Vista, TX (Near South Padre Island, Brownsville, Harlingen) - Have bike, will ride, again primarily M-F.

If you live anywhere near any of these places please drop me an email at RainmanP@att.net whether or not you think you can meet. Let's talk.
Regards,
Raymond

Enjoy your vacation! Seems a bit ambitious doing both coasts and the Gulf.
I think John E. has mentioned he is in Escondido. Considering the quality of his posts, I think he would be someone enjoyable to talk with.
But it's your vacation, visit whom you'd like --I knew you would anyway.

I believe John E is in Encinitas, about 35 miles from Escondido.

Be sure and toast with champagne while at Lawrence Welk Village. My mom (89 yo) loves to go there. But not I.

Too much fun? Son, haven't you heard that country song? I can't remember the exact words, but basically "too much fun" is like being too thin, being too rich, a car too fast...
I ain't ever had too much fun!
