you cant assume that. basically everyone has been on a bike.

some days i ditch the chrome bag and hang my purse from my handlebars.

of course the girls wouldnt look comfortable because this isnt their bike & it doesnt fit them.

I find the idea of a young woman riding a fixed gear bike very attractive, regardless of the young woman's appearance.
I would pick a female fixed gear rider as a dinner date, platonic or otherwise, over most other classifications of person.
For one thing, most of the folks on this forum write very well, and so I would expect a higher probability of a good conversation.
The question in my mind: why do fixed gear bikes and verbal skills go together?

I think fixed gear riding combined with posting on internet forums about fixies ad noseum and verbal skills go together... I mean, you kind of have to write well for this kind of crap to be even half way interesting. Ask joe-fixie on the street for an off the cuff tract about the pitfalls of clipless as how it relates to vegan philosophy and you might not have as much luck.
