Forgot my lock today. Any advice on what to do?
I took my front wheel off, just in case.
Loop your helmet over the frame so that it looks, from a distance, as if the hemet is locked with the bike.

Keep the bike indoors. I don't know what your place of work is like, but most offices I've been in have been really helpful - there's usually a post room or similar with a bit of space to leave a bike...
I forgot my lock today as well. I knew I shouldn't have taken it off the bike on Friday. My bike is now in one of our labs, hidden behind some equipment in case someone who doesn't want it there sees it.

Take out your chain breaker (I know you ride with one) and chain the bike to the rack with the chain.
I just leave my ulock at work. I don't have to worry about forgetting my keys, because I need them to lock the door when I leave.

I leave my lock and cable at work too, and to make sure I don't forget my keys for the lock, I use a combination lock. (no worry about forgetting the combination number, I bought the lock in '73 and have used it for all 5 years of high school, and all 20 years at work)
