OK, so I hate A-hole bike shops.

I have to give 2 Thumbs up to Bay Ridge Bicycle World (3rd Ave and 90th Street).

I called up a bunch of bike shops looking for a Kona Hoss and they had one in my size. The MSRP is $800, they had an '04 model for $550. (Another bike shop in Inwood had an '04 model for the full $800)

So I went to check them out, the price was reduced because the paint was scratched up on the chain stay (the left side, not the drive side)... they touched it up for me, switched out the riser bars to flat bars, put on Shimano SPDs and swapped out the stock tires with Continental Town & Countries and tuned-it up.

The service was excellent. I also saved a lot of $$$ on a bike I was ready to pay the full MSRP for.

By the way, my Pista has found a new home, I sold her to some Triathlete in Manhattan.

I won't be going fixed for some time.
