Training & Nutrition - Wheel barrow full of protein.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I was wondering if anyone knew of some good calf exercises along with quads. Also someone suggested to me that i might consider taking whey( not sure on spelling) protein. Anyone know the pros or cons.

good calf and quad execises? ride your bike... if you want something off the bike stand and raise up on your toes as you get stronger and return. you can add some weight if needed later as you get stronger ,you can use the leg press machine at the gym just add less weight plates and instead of using your entire legs just use toes youll isolate the calfs but be carefull not to over do it at first.
quads.. squats with or with out added weight , leg press machine, leg extensions, be aware you should also work the opposing muscle group the hamstrings which are weaker anyway if you just work quads you will make the imbalance that much greater and cause problems also stair climbing is good for quads and over all work out. there is more talk to a local trainer or coach form is critical for safe and effective weight training
and then when you are all done go ride your bike some more
