Sounds really good. It has 4 days left, so the bid may go way up. Ask for some better pictures though... the one he has sucks.

I would like a lot more detail pictures and a list of the component details.

With real detail pics you could get a better idea if the bike was really only used to get to church by his grandma.

If he built it he could tell you if the xtr rear der. was 952 or 960 and the same with the xt parts.

If you can conclude he is telling the truth, I would definately make a bid or two.
I think the price is going to go up substantially though.

Well, the MSRP on that bike new was $1299 (back in 2002). It's now 3 years old & USED, meaning the value has dropped tremendously regardless. If you really, really like this bike, and it fits & all, then I "might" pay up to $550 tops. It's nothing special to me, but everyone has an apple in their eye sometimes....

The only XTR component is apparently 3 yrs old. (rear derailleur) I've worn them out in 1 year before.

The rims are surely close to being fatigued, making broken spokes & constant truing a common task.

The Avid brakes can be had cheap, especially since they're not the BB7's.

The fork is $275 (new) @ JensonUSA, but since it too is also "used", it's value is considerably less.

i am guessing around 750$.people are willing to pay outrages prices on bikes on e bay.

yeah. it fits perfectly what i need and want. if it goes over the price i will pay then thats fine. still how to decide how much i want to spend. since it is over ebay and i wont have chance to ride it its worth a lot less.
