I've currently got X223 disc rims on my bike (laced to Deore hubs). I have no complaints about them, but I was thinking of getting a second wheelset, either pre-made or by buying the parts and having someone lace them up for me. I would obviously like to get something that is an improvement over what I have in terms of weight. I am a typical XC rider, by the way. No jumps or huge hits.
I know that there are LOTS of rims on the market, but to keep from going crazy, I've narrowed down my question to two other common Mavic rims. How does my X223 compare with the others I mentioned?
And how do the other two compare with each other? Why does the XC717 cost twice as much at the XM321? Is it mostly a weight-saving thing? Thanks.
