Introductions - Hi from Alaska, and wear your helmet

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello, from Alaska. And before I go on, two days ago I crashed on my road bicycle because I was not paying attention to a bump near my house that I'm ridden over hundreds of times. I bounced my head on the pavement. I got up and didn't know where I was and why I was there. Mild concussion. But I wore my helmet, which I cracked. And I'll ride again. So just a reminder to wear that helmet.
I love my road bike but I also have a MB and a touriing frame I hope to rebuild and am in the midst of putting together a cyclocross bike. Alaska may be miserable for winter bicycling, but it's great in the summer. It didn't really get too dark last night to ride until about 11 p.m. Great scenery. On my regular rides I see moose, volcanos and glaciers. I hope not to see bear. Best to all.
