I think this frameset I found on craigslist is a good deal.

I'd like to build it into a cross/tour bike, and would like some feedback. I know I'll run into problems with mounting panniers with disc brakes, but would there be any other issues with this particular 2003 conquest disc-r frame? I know redline also makes a tour specific frame, but wanted a bike I could cross this season as I'd like to get into the northwest race scene.

I hope there's no problem, I'm doing the same thing to my 2002 model Conquest Pro. I've put a triple crank on, bar end shifters, and a little wider range of gears, 11-28. I haven't got the racks on yet, though. Aand I've no idea about the disk brake issues, mine came with cantilevers. I would think you could run the TOur model in cyclocross too, at least I tthink I remember reading that in the early days of the sport in Europe they would use touring frames. But whatever, I'm not an expert in either activity.

Hope to be ready for a shake down tour in acouple weeks, I'll let you know how it goes.
