So, last night I readjust my handle bars and also try out a new pair of shorts. It was going to be just a short "ride around the block", basically a mostly flat (60' elevation change) 6 mile ride. I was going well, enjoying the ride on my comfort bike, when halfway through the ride, I see in the distance a road biker in a pastel green jersey. He is about a half mile away. I figure I will try and catch him and maybe talk to him. I crank harder, get my speed up and go. He sees me, gets on his bike and takes off. after a mile I was gaining on him, then he looked at me again and turned a corner and he was gone. I kept pumping away trying to catch up but to know avail. However, I kept the pace until I got home and realized that I road the 6 miles in less than 20 minutes! I have not ridden much this year (80 miles total, 16 miles at the longest ride), yet that was by far the best ride (physically challenging) yet. Unfortunately, today I have slight pain in my knees.
