I'm looking for specific fender suggestions; i.e. brands, etc. I'm looking to put some on my fuji touring bike.. any suggestions?? It seems like all new fenders are some sort of plastic? is that the case? or can one find metal fenders, too?
thanks

You can get metal ones. Ive used stainless steel fenders, they work well and last, but these days I use SKS chromoplastic fenders. There are none better.

Some of the benefits of plastic are that they are light, and cheap to replace when they break.

There are some plastic fenders which crack and break , but those SKS ones are pretty unbreakable. Thats why they have a safety release on the front stays.

I'm with Michael on the SKS/Esge fenders. They're light and appear to be unbreakable, and provide the best possible protection. I also endorse Rivendell's technique of mounting them with zip ties.

thanks for the input. I was looking at those and the zefal fenders. I'll probably go with those if I can get a good deal on them. I'll have to look at the rivendell technique.

You'll find them in the electrical department at Lowes. Probably the same place at Home Depot too.
