Recumbent - USS handlebar designs

Does anyone know where i can get some ideas or plans for USS handlebar designs?
or does anyone have some clear photos of their USS handlebar set up?

thought i had it sussed with using a straight MTB bar, but then i put the chain on and it all turned to custard from there ...

Hey check out the bike used on the www.centralasiabikeride.com website they are M5 and have bars attached via a standard stem and mtb bar with adjustable barends. Try the street machine website also for similar setups. Cheers bikeguru

thanks for that ... have thought it out, used bits of aluminium tubing and old headstems and come up with my own design, also based on azubs bike (http://www.azub.cz/en/azub-4.html) . will post some pics and plans soon ...

Can you get the bars on the "top" of the headset without too much trouble? Would that solve the problem?

tried it coming out of the top of the rear headset ... but with the sag in the seat my butt was rubbing on the top of the stem, plus hte bar was just a bit hard to reach ...
I also tried it coming out of the top of the front headset [similar to the way turner recumbents are specc'd] ... this was actually quite comfortable, but there were issues of getting on and off the bike, plus the bar caught on the seat if trying to turn sharply ... this wasn't a problem in general riding though.

when i get a new seat [hard shell/fibreglass/carbon fibre], i can raise it up a bit or set it back just a tad and this should fix all the above problems ...

my new design should work just fine, pics to follow shortly ...

Vision used roadie bars, turned upside down and sweeping back. That would get the handholds up higher.
