Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Joust? Polo? ZooBomb? just ride around? other?

Me, I ZooBomb. Mostly home made sting-ray style 20" bikes for downhill; choppers and minis too. I commute on off-beat bikes, too. I love the looks I get from the lycra crowd. ;)

Come on people, how about some chatter? We asked for this page, let's use it. What do I have to do, post keywords? Bike jousting. ZooBombing. Doing weird stuff on your chooper or tallbike. Nobody? Nothing? :o

I'd reply if I knew what ZooBombing is. It sounds fun!
Maybe people could threadjack or make a new thread with a glossary of Alt Bike terms so the less initiated - ie me have a clue what you're on about!

Yeah, I don't know what zoobombing is either...

Today I rode to work on my tall bike, since its ride to work day. It was surprisingly comfortable! I sometimes joust, sometimes go buy big boxes of popsicles or beer, or ride around bar hopping. Pretty much whatever I'd do on a regular bike I'll do on an alt bike, and most of the things are more fun on an alt bike!

And don't be THAT surprised when you post after midnight, and then post again wondering why there are no responses at 1:30am, that isn't a very fair window! ;)

peace,
sam

I pretty much only use mine for Coke commercials.

I use my chopper for commuting to work and back as well as a few other errands. I use my Firebike for sunny day cruising and I use my trike for going shopping. Radical, huh?

ZooBomb is a once a week late Sunday night downhill ride and party. Ride the light rail to the top of the hill at the zoo, party, bomb the hill, repeat two or three times. The bike of choice is a kid's mini. ZooBomb Century coming up June 12th, 100 miles downhill on a mini, about 25 round trips. Annual Mt. Hood bomb in July. More detail when I've got a little more time, or you could search the forums, I've posted about ZooBomb a couple of times before. See the web site for photos:

You portland kids really know how to party. :) If I were up in the Pacific NE I'd totally come zoobomb with you! I travel up there sometimes since I've got friends around there, so maybe next time I'll plan for zoobomb and bring a pixie in my carryon luggage. ;)

Reminds me a bit of the bigwheel race they have in san francisco down the steepest road in the city every year. Steep hill + tiny bike = loads of fun. :D

I take my schwinn spoiler, saddlebag, spiked german helmet, and just cruise. Nod or wave to all those who say nice bike. curse at those in cars that don't know or respect bikers rules and rights. go to an outdoor cafe or coffee house and park the bike right in front in a car spot. sit back and watch people look at it.

I cruise for fun and exercise on the nonelectric assist chopper, also do the same plus run errands and hunt roadies on the electric assist one :)

I cruise around the neibhorhood and around the local schools with it. I also go into burger king and leave it out in front so every one can see it. We get some good comments.

I dont have an alt bike... yet. But I just bought a welder yesterday and cant wait to hack one together.

As to what I'll do on it? Try not to be embarrassed I guess. I live a 'burb that has no appreciation or understanding for such fine art.

The cruiser is a great ride for spectating car/cycle events. More flexible than walking, more sympatico with the rod/custom/biker crowd, and no parking hassles.

The ride to my library is more of a gears proposition, so my next canti-framed bike will be a 3-speed, preferably coasterbraked, with a front handbrake. I'd like to try my hand at making a vintage-looking tank for it, and a custom front rack.
