Has anyone been to the NYC Bike Show before? Just wondering if it's worth the trip for recumbents. Any test rides there?

Thanks,
Randy

Randy,

I'm going tonight after work for the 1st time. I'll try to post if there are rides or not, as I am interested in recumbents/trikes as well.

BTW, go to http://www.bicycleshows.us/nyc/coupon.php for a dicount coupon to the show.

Randy,

Last night there were NO recumbent dealers at all at the show. They did say that more dealers come on Saturday and Sunday, but who knows.

What they did have in the test ride area were one recumbent, which appeared to be an old LWB no name; and one of the organizers had his Greenspeed GT3 trike.

I tried the trike and it felt pretty good. One of the major comments about it was you felt too low to the ground, thus making people leary of riding in NYC traffic.

Hope this helps. Enjoy!

Thanks for the report Mark. I have tomorrow (Sun) afternoon open and was thinking of heading over but it's a 3 hour round trip for me and it sounds like it may not worth it. I have the feeling I'd be better off using the time to take a trip to Norhteast Recumbents or some other shop that specializes in recumbents instead. Thanks again.
