Mountain Biking - Tubeless Tires

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

It seems I am forever getting punctures, and I have allready lost one of my legendary high pressure inner tubes through several punctures. So I was thinking about investing in tubeless tires and wondered if it was worth it and if any of you knew about some good ones that perhaps you know about or use yourself?
In order to use tubeless tires, you need to buy tubeless wheels --they ain't cheap.
I think Dirtgrinder (I hope I remember correctly) is running them. There is an old thread where he was having some trouble with the Mavic hub, but liked the tires quite well.

You're partly right lj! :) I do really like the Mavic tubeless rims, but the hubs were Formula. They are now using Shimano XT hubs in their wheelsets. (Formula's aren't great)
As far as tires, I bought a set of Kenda Kharissma tubeless tires this Spring and they have been great so far. No problems at all.
I went through several Hutchinson Python tubeless tires and tore them regularly.
