Just a thought: The climbing forums website I use is divided by topic/type like BikeForums but also offers regional forums so that cliimbers from different parts of the country/world can hook up. Has BikeForums considered this?

Every so often, the topic comes up. It seems like it's not in the cards.

Besides that, not everyone wants their regions known.

One of the car forums I go to does it. I frequent the regional forums for two different regions. Others visit even more of them. Just because someone posts in a regional forum, it doesn't mean they live there.

I already think there are too many forums here, so I'm against it. The only reason it doesn't bother me on the other forum is that I can 'turn off' forums I don't visit and not see them.

Yet another reason- we have so many forums. I just don't see how it wouldn't get messy to have different regions.

Does the climbing forums website have 30,000 members? Just interested...

Well, we do have Ride Partners as a sub-forum. If you really want to find folks to ride with, you can post there.

What about being able to look up members on the member list by location and/or alphabetically. If you do not want to be found leave your location blank.

I wouldn't mind them. Do west/east/midwest/global. My only justification is questions regarding local races and events.
