This may be a stupid question: What are the inner diameters of headtubes for 1" forks and for 1 1/8" forks? If my new frame's headtube is 30mm, does that mean I need to go with 1 1/8" everything (fork, headset, stem)?

If my new frame's headtube is 30mm, does that mean I need to go with 1 1/8" everything (fork, headset, stem)? Measure again. 30.0mm with a 27.0 crown race is JIS 1". 30.2mm with a 26.4 CR is ISO 1". JIS 1" HS standard is out of fashion except for possibly some cheap Asian frames.

I should have said - headtube inner diameter is 30mm. Are crown race and inner diameter the same thing?
