After dealing with a rash of **** that has put me into kind of a funk for the last 3 years I am finally gonna go on a tour that last longer than 2 days. The plan is sketchy - everything I do is sketchy but it's gonna go something like this:
End of next week get on the train (with my bike) in Whitefishl MT and take the rails to Seattle. Get off the train at seattle and ride to whidbey Island.... begin tour there riding back to MT following 20 most of the way... then rest awhile back in Kalispell and if everything is kosher at home continue on to Maine. Here's the crazy part... I gotta do this on about 10 bucks a day. I'm gonna boondock camp most of the time and eat like a goat... lots of oatmeal and GORP. I'm a card carrying tightwad-cheapskate so I think I can pull this off. The thing is, I gotta do this now... so I'm just gonna do it.
Anyone have any advice on how to get to Whidbey Island from the train station in seattle? It looks like there is some kind of a train (amtrak) stop at some kind of a pier.... but I'm on daytime minutes with my cell phone internet connection and am too cheap to look it up :-)
