Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - I want a short stem so I have a question...

Are Bmx stems pretty standard or the same as road stems as far as bar clamp size goes? I found a couple of different stems that I like but can't find any info on bar clamp size. They are cheap on ebay so it isn't a huge gamble I would just like to save myself the trouble if anyone knows they won't fit.

bmx stuff will not work with road. the steer tube clamp and handlebar clamp are different.

I was also looking for a short stem a while ago. The best ones I found (as in 70mm or shorter), were the thompson cnc'ed stems, the dimension h20 stems and the Icon stems (related to trek I believe... it was hidden at the back of of the 15th LBS I checked, so you may have better luck with the others)

I have a nitto young 65 or 60 mm laying around. Crazy short reach. If anyone's interested let me know.
