Bikeophile was kind enough to give me these. All I had to do was sign a piece of paper... Sorry for the grim quality of the photo

waiting for mine laced, tied and soldered up to tasty cxp33s with butted spokes. Mine are in silver though. I had to bring a fat envelope for mine!

A.K.A. a 'check', I presume...?

Could have been his soul - you never know...

'twas indeed a cheque. I sold my soul when I was three.

Man, there's so much more flash in black. In silver you think, hey these guys have a decent product. I hope they stay afloat.

In black it's a clear blockbuster. They're obviously destined to rule the planet and we are their dirty obsequious minions.

What was the damage?

They do look really nice...

what's up with the front? QR? or just missing the bolts?

do you think I could get some minus the logos?

I still prefer Dura Ace, but they look sweet.

The Front hubs are actually Q/R which. According to Scott from Level his is because of their original intent to make these hubs for MTB's who tend to use quick releases more than track bolts.

We have talk in length about this (and my unhappiness with no track bolts) and I believe that eventually they will sell them with an allen key Q/R in the same design as the rear bolts, but until then...Q/R it is...or krypto locking skewers.

For prices, check out the bikeophile site linked in my sig. Black is the same price as silver currently (unless level decides to change the price...no plans to do that as of yet anyways)

Mine are silver with black spokes. My rear drops are Ti on a black carbon frame so I think that the silver looks really pretty. But for some these black levels will convince them it is worth the effort to try the design. More power to Scott.

I hear ya...I've been riding my Levels for quite a while now, but as soon as I saw the Black ones...YIKES!!! I may have to throw my OPEN PRO/SILVER Levels on ebay so I can build up the black ones :)

Be happy with what you have. That is my advise.

Oh darn! And here I was thinking the front was bolt on! Oh well. I guess I'm running a QR up front right now anyways. Does it come with the skewer?
I guess it will be useful for throwing my bike in the back of cars and stuff..

Any possibility of a retrofit?

Wow we are a vain bunch... Someone reengineers the concept of the cog and makes the first serious improvement to the system in I don't know HOW many years, and the only thing that makes us like it is that it comes in a pretty color.

Oh well, I do like the pretty color...

peace,
sam

I know its sad really. But I was kidding (sort of)...Since the Level Wheels I am riding are the first Levels built up in Canada, I can't very well just get rid of those! So I'll stick with my lovely Silver/Open Pro combo :)
