I have to go with long and hilly.

The length requires endurance, the hills fitness, the descents skill, and the sprints power. I believe it to be the race for the well-rounded cyclist.

Long and hilly road race will be a real race of mind and body. In a long flat race road race the group will for the most part stay together and come down to a pack sprint. So unless you are a mad sprinter your chances of being on the podium is tough.
