Hello,
I'm a "newbie" here. Been running for almost 30 years and biking on and off for the last 5 years. The older you get the more you appreciate the workout of riding a bike compared to the pounding the legs take running. I run and bike to burn calories, stay in shape and stave off getting old! I'm 53 and feeling like a 30 year old so I must be doing something right! :)
My question: I know that walking or running a mile burns about 100 calories. Is there any such equation for biking? I can do a 2o miler on the bike and because I'm not all beat up I come away thinking I've somehow "cheated".
Thanks!
Jim J
