Welcome (I went to college in Marietta but live far away in Vermont now). What is biking like in SE Ohio. Are the back roads safe?

Back roads are OK, you just have to keep an eye out. Drivers here are not used to bicycles, but are pretty respectful in general. It also helps that traffic is never very heavy.
