I've been lurking for a couple of months, and I've made a couple of posts, but I just got my bike this evening. So, I'm making it official!
I just picked up an '05 Jamis Aurora. Its my first real bike, and my first new bike since my '94 Huffy. I was using the Huffy to ride to the L station, at least I was, until someone made off with my rear wheel. But, now that I've got my new bike, I'm planning on riding the whole way to the office, "West Bucktown" to the Loop.
I'm a Civil Engineer, which means I'm to blame for poor roadway designs. If anybody ever has any questions about why things are the way they are, in regards to roadway design, traffic management, etc., I'd be happy to try to help out.
I've found that this is a great community, and I hope I can be a constructive citizen.
