I'm visiting SFO next week and would love recommendations for good sushi. I ask here because I know there's lots of folks in SFO who might be able to point me in the right direction. I'm looking for an all you can eat sushi place, no more than $13-15 per person.
Well in that price range I'd go to Kitaro on 21st Ave and Geary. Good Sushi for little money.
Ha! All you can eat Sushi for $13 to $15 a person? This is SF dude, sh*t here is expensive. You could go to Moonstar on 8th and Market, but honestly, there's a reason it's cheap.
That being said, I'm VERY picky about sushi.
As 46x17 said, Kitaro is your best bet. I would also recommend You See Sushi on 6th and Judah in the Sunset, good fish there, and they have combos that are reasonably priced. There's also Judah Okazuya on like 30th and Judah, they tend to hook up big slices of good fish, and they seemed relatively inexpensive, but I always seem to get a discount at places on Judah when they see the name on my card.
If you're not looking to eat at the place, the very best deal I've found in SF is at Yum Yum Fish on 22nd and Irving. They have reallllllllly good fish (some of the better sushi places get their fish at Yum Yum's fish market), and they have really good prices on their rolls, nigiri, sashimi, etc. The only downside is that they don't have anywhere to sit as they are mainly a fish market. I always stop by there if I'm in the park around lunchtime though.

San francisco is the best place for sushi - but unfortunately its not cheap! The "all-you-can-eat" places are pretty ghetto in my opinion and there are very few left. But I am particular about my raw fish and tend to eat sashimi.
The best cheap place is Kitaro out in the Richmond at Geary and 22nd. If you are willing to throw done a few more bills, check out Tokyo-go-go in the mission (go early for specials) and Tsunami at divisadero and fulton (also specials before 7) - however if you eat a lot you can spend 40 bucks pretty easily. But they are super cool atmospheres and make for a good night.
Otherwise your only bet is to hit up a Todai (all you can eat asian food chain) - the closest is just south of san francisco in daly city.
edit: damn - how come i never see you fools at Kitaro - we go all the time!

Whoa thanks for all the recommendations. I just started eatin sushi and sashimi a couple of years ago when my wife took me for the first time. Now I can't get enough :D Around the Reno area, the best sushi place in town is $11.95 all you can eat, and its pretty good. Sounds like I'll be able to afford Kitaro for the two of us. Thanks again and keep'm coming!

How about Todai. Not quite the best but you can definately gorge your self to Sushi oblivion. http://www.todai.com/ ;)
Now that I think about it, I would actually recommend either Judah Okazuya or You See Sushi over Kitaro. IMO both have better fish, and Kitaro always has a big wait. You See Sushi used to be my neighborhood sushi spot, it's got a really cool atmosphere and the family that owns it is super nice.

Hmm... I remember going to this awesome sushi place around the castro district. I can't remember the name, tho. It definitely had it's own flare/flair/wtfever to it, and it was sooooo good.
I'm sure you'll come across some good sushi, tho :)
