New member here... I will be 44 years old on July 2, I am a Texan by choice (live in The Woodlands, just north of Houston), having moved here from California (I know, I know, where are the mountains?). Married, with two beautiful daughters (8yrs and 3yrs), both who bike and both have multiple bikes. I was seriously involved in MTBing in California, both riding and trail advocacy, and took up road cycling when I moved here. Had back surgery a few years ago, so when the docs said not MTBing I snuck in a recumbent and used that while I recovered (and later as my commuter).
I ride a Lemond Buenos Aires (only upgrades... Terry Fly saddle, Vredstein Fortezzas, soon adding Speedplay X-2 pedals to replace my Time ATAC MTB pedals I use). I also have a Cannondale SV2000, a Bridgestone MB-3, and a BikeE AT.
Rode in the MS150 (Houston to Austin) last year... before that my longest ride was 45 miles. Hope to ride a few centuries this year (including the Katy Flatlander and the Hotter than Hell).
