Bicycle Mechanics - chain jumping.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. my chain as been jumping lately but it seems as though only when im pedaling hard. at first it was doing it in almost every gear (11-32 t) then i noticed my chain was binding up in some of the joints so i replaced it. i just put on the new chain and now its only doing it in the 11t chain ring. could i have rounded off the teeth on the cassette from the chain jumping? or is my derailluer just not tunned in right? ive tried to look back at the cassette as it skips and it looks like its just popping straight off the top instead of trying to go up to the next ring. so i think the derailuer is fine. any thoughts?

Chain jumps for me when I am pedalling hard in a low gear at a low speed. Only happened once so far on my new bike though.
what front chainwheel are you using its skipping? If you are using the smallest gear on the cassette, it should only be used with the largest chainwheel in front. It could also be the high limit screw is too tight or the 11t cog has some rounded teeth.
i only have a 38t ring up front. i just checked the 11t cog and it does have some very very slight rounding on some of the teeth. so that could be it. ive only been using this cassette for about a year but then again i think its a cheapo (its the stock cassette). ill check the limit screws. thanks.
