Not being mechanically minded....anybody hear of this?

That mystery clicking noise returned on my new Klein during my 26-mile ride today. Yesterday my LBS said the bottom bracket was a little loose and they tightened it. No noice for the first five miles today, then it was back.

Took the bike back in today and they speculate debris in the crank or a loose screw. He'll take it apart and clean it up. Heck, the bike only has about 400 miles on it!

Hey, I haven't seen your old threads regarding this issue so I apologize if I give repeated suggestions.

I've noticed that "clicking" noises (atleast in the case of my bikes) is typically caused by loose chainring bolts. Make sure those are tight. If those are fine, I'd check the bottom bracket, but since you said that was tightened by your lbs, I'd try extracting your crank and putting a bit of grease on the bb spindles and then torque your crank down. Make sure to check if your pedals and cleats are tight. Those might be making the noise and it just sounds like it's coming from your crank.

Good luck,
Simon

Im having this happen in my new Surly Cross with a Shimano LX bottom set.
It has gone from a small 'click' to a full knock when the crank is at 7:00 '0 clock
on the right side. What worries me is how bad its become in such a short period.
Trying to get it to happen while not moving is pointless.
