Hi all!

I have been looking for a 28 teeth, 64mm (4 bolts) chainring -- can't find it...

Why 28 will you ask? there are a few simple reasons :
1° I like riding 2 chainrings mtb's;
2° My bike used to be my city rig and, as a city bike, it had its Shimano LX outer chainring's arms cut to make it 42t single chainring crankset. Now I have left the city, it shall be back to its original use and I have to use the center mounting for a 44t chainring and the inner for 28.
3° If I want to ride in the woods again, I'll have to live with that setup (can't afford a new crankset if want to bring my bring my road bike to France's alpine cols this summer).

I said it all,
hope you can help!

Shure : no.

But I did hear about such a thing -- althought I did not find it after an extensive web-search...

I did think of another solution : I could buy ("buy", again!) a spider adaptor to replace the LX spider-chainring (the one I cut to make it single chain ring) and convert the M569 crank set to the compact standard = 58/94mm. I'm pretty shure I could put together a 44-30 teeth setup in 94mm bolt circle.

This would mean buying a spider and two chainrings;
This could also mean mountain biking soon!!! (until then, it's 1x9 with 32 teeth up front...)
