Need a new CX fork, and I'm looking at the Alpha Q CX.
Heard a lot of good stuff about it. Quite expensive though, but willing to pay the amount.
Is it worth it? Should i bring other forks into consideration in that price range (weight matters).
Do I get (close to) the same quality for half the price like Empella, Allan etc.
I use a standard 1-1/8 headset. Running Winnwood Muddy now (Not buying that one again).

Just curious, what's the problem with the Winwood?

Alpha Q is great, if you are going to use it for racing but may be a little expensive and delicate for hardcore trail riding. WoundUp and Reynolds make a carbon cross forks, too.
I have Winwood Muddy on my Giant TCX and I have endo'd on that thing a few times. The fork held up well; as for my head and neck, they didn't hold up as well.

Honestly. The winwood has been quite ok, but it’s been with me for quite some time now.
It has been trough a lot, and I feel it has somehow softened around the crown area.
The brake chatter has been worse too. If I were to go in that price range again I would consider aluminum fork.
About the same weight, and probably stiffer. Don’t know.
Just want to see if I gain something by going up in price. It really has been my best CX fork until now.
I have an Alpha Q for one of my roadbikes, and quite happy with it. Very happy in fact, so I figured I might give the CX a try
