Track Cycling: Velodrome Racing and Training Area - Screw Bike the Drive...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
not really. Actually nothing beats thousands of bikers on LSD. Anyways,
instead of doing Bike the Drive on Sunday I will be making my way for a
trip up to the Northbrook Velodrome. It should be fun to get familiar
on the track in what is hopefully a relaxing environment. If anyone one
wants to join me, cool; i'll be the one on the chrome pista. Not sure
when I'll show (probably around 9-10is).

So how was it?
I've finally finished the intro class, and convinced a friend to ride out to our velodrome in Blaine on Saturday. The rain had been spitting on & off, and by the time we got out there & got our bikes all set and waited around for the track to dry, we didn't have much time to ride. I'm really looking forward to riding as much as I can this season! I'll have to see if riding 14 miles to the track, racing/training for a couple hours 2 or 3 times a week, then biking home proves to be too much :c)
It was a ton of fun!
I went early sunday by myself & had the whole track to myself. I worked on timing myself while
I did some drills & practiced my sarah ulmer & petacchi moves. I'm really excited about doing some of Marcus' training sessions and possibly doing some races.
That's really cool that you're able to ride your bike to the track, I can't even imagine doing any road riding after giving your all on the track.
Later in the morning an older couple showed up on mountain bikes and just rode circles on the top of the bank while I was spinning around like crazy near the cote d'azur (sp?). Fantastic.
