Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey everyone
this site has some great info and resources from previouse posts
finally I have a me specific ???

There is a RR one week from sunday Should I compete?? (CAT 5)
I have never raced before, but have done the bike portion of a triathlon in a relay team
I have some general experience riding in groups, but not aggressively like a race

I am in pretty good shape, and am 21 years of age
I have been riding consistanly for the last few months
in the last month I have been averaging over 100mi per week
almost all solo

distances range from 20mi -40mi w/ one or too over 50
this month my average speeds have been between 18-20mph solo
knowing this info do you think I can hang in a Elite Cat 5 race in one week?
its a 38mi loop w/ 2000 vertical feet

I plan on racing Mens C next season for my college

any comments, advice, questions ..... would be great
thanks,
James

I'd say with that resume you'll do just fine. Don't be dissapointed if you get dropped.

Elite Cat 5
Isn't that some kind of oxymoron? ;)

1. no crashes

3. finish the race ;)
