My stem looks like it's a 100 years old - what can I do to bring it back to looking like new? It is aluminum.

Go to your local hardware store and ask for a can of Never Dull. It's this cotton-ball-like stuff that's impregnated with a polishing compound. Add elbow grease and enjoy.

I wonder if you can get it re-anodized? Probably want to polish it first though.
