When I was in school back in 1982 I bought a TREK 350 road bike to commute from home to school and back. Used it quite a bit back then, however after getting married, moving, new job and 4 children I did not have time to ride and put the bike in storage. Now that I have more time, I got the bike out of storage and need to replace the original tires {they still hold air but are severly decayed on the sidewalls**. The tire size reads 25-630 {27X1** and I have not been able to find this tire size. The rims are labled as 27 X 1 inch. What other tire/tubes will fit? Any ideas or suggestions for this old bike?
Thanks
Jackie
It should be easy to find 27 x 1.25 which should work fine. I just checked Nashbar and they have their own 27 x 1 tire for less than $10. There were a lot of bike craze 70 bikes with 27" wheels so they're still available if you look around. try the vintage forum and you might get some specific recommendations.

I sell 27" rubber of all sizes. They are not as prevalent as they used to be, but any bike shop should be able to get you 27x1, 27x1 1/8, 1 1/4, or 27x 1 3/8. The only thing is they do not go by the designation 27x 1.25. They grade fractionally not by decimals. For 27" this may seem important, but once you start talking 26", 24", 20", it becomes a big deal. There are tires designated with fractional sizes and decimal sizes. The two are not interchangeable.

Thanks for the quick replies and direction to Nashbar.com. I will be ordering 2 tires from them.
Thanks

Nashbar (as Mowog mentioned) actually have 6 grades of 27's available all for under $20, though it does take some reading to discover them all. To a search by price to speed up the searching process.

Jackiewallymart and kmart sell cheap 27" tires and tubes. 27x11/8" will aslo work, probably even 27x11/4" if you have lots of clearance.
